Hailey Richmond- Birth and Postpartum Doula based in West Jordan Utah

Hi, I’m Hailey.

The Spark

Several years ago a friend reached out to me. She was pregnant, and told me she wanted me to be a doula for her when she gave birth. She encouraged me to go through a training for it. I didn't serve as her doula, but the thought of pursuing doula work never left me.

Answering the call

Fast forward to 2024, my sister was pregnant and planning her home birth. I became certified through Melissa Chappell's Songbird Maternity, and helped both my sister and my cousin give birth naturally early in 2025. Their births were intense, surreal and deeply felt by me. These experiences and others led me to quit my job and pursue doula work completely.

Family science has always been a big passion of mine, and that passion led me to pursue degrees in psychology and family science at BYU. As a recent graduate and doula, my passion and knowledge about families and human attachment (which starts right from birth) fuels my work in this field. It is my hope to be a support to families from the moment parents become parents! Nurturing early healthy attachment starts with birth.

Philosophy

My philosophy of childbirth is growing and evolving as I learn and experience more. My belief in God and my own spirituality, however, have secured my belief that birth is spiritual, symbolic, and sacred. I believe in empowering mothers to make their own choices with good education, while being in tune with their God-given motherly intuition. I don't necessarily believe there is a 'right' way to birth. My intent is to be a calming presence, physical support, and educated guidance to help mothers bring their little angels earth-side.

I would be honored to serve as an emotional, physical, and educational support to you and your family during one of the most sacred experiences of your life.

PHilosophy and approach

Created For Birth

We are created to birth our babies into this world. That process is more than just an event- it is a transformation. I carry this philosophy at the core of my approach. I believe in the innate strength within every woman, and my role is to guide and empower you, alongside the rest of your birth team, on your unique journey.

Combat fear with faith

Fear causes tension, tension leads to pain. When we face our fear, we replace it with FAITH, which allows us to relax and allow.

We emerge stronger and more resilient. Birth, with all its uncertainties and challenges, provides a crucial opportunity for personal growth.

Collaborative Effort

I value the essential role that partners, grandmothers, sisters and others play. My doula support extends beyond the individual, creating a collaborative and inclusive environment that fosters a sense of unity and believe it or not, FUN.

Empowerment

You are in in the drivers seat, I am the navigator. I love supporting your birth plan and empowering you to advocate for your choices. I provide knowledgeable guidance and suggestions throughout.

When we give birth, we can realize just how powerful we are. This strength carries with us throughout our lives and motherhood.
